Art Statement

Mohamed Abdelaziz Nahar, a contemporary African artist working primarily with watercolor. My artistic practice is deeply connected to my immediate surroundings — the people, places, and everyday moments that shape the world around me. I’m drawn to watercolor for its fluidity, spontaneity, and honesty; its unpredictability allows me to express emotion in a way that feels true to who I am.

Through my paintings, I aim to uncover the quiet beauty hidden in ordinary scenes — a familiar face, a street at dusk, a fleeting play of light. I want my work to invite people to pause, reflect, and see the grace and poetry woven into daily life.

My themes often explore community, memory, and cultural identity. As an African artist, my work is both personal and collective — a visual expression of the land I come from, the people I know, and the stories we carry together.
